Three dead in car mishap on Hingna Road

NAGPUR: Three people, including car driver Nilesh Dhopte, were killed in a mishap on Mohgaon-Jhilpi Road on Sunday when their vehicle rammed into a tree. The deceased had gone to Bhimkhund dam near Jhilpi for a picnic. The accident took place while the victims were returning to Nagpur.
Dhopte's fellow passengers, identified as Gajendra Samartha and Vivek Jivekar, were also killed in the incident.It is learnt that Dhopte was driving at high speed. The car spun and somersaulted a couple of times after hitting a roadside tree. The car, in which the victims were travelling, was heavily damaged. Cops said Dhopte appears to have lost control of the car.
Police said Samartha and Jivekar died on the spot while Dhopte was declared dead after being rushed to Rural Hospital at Hingna. An offence has been registered at Hingna police station against Dhopte for causing the accident.
