Teachers showcase latent talent

NAGPUR: The Times-NIE Teachers’ Meet-2016 held on November 29 gave teachers an opportunity to showcase their latent talent.
The sponsor of the event was EduSports, which deals in holistic education through sports. More than 30 teachers from different schools were present on the occasion. Prateek Deogirikar, regional head of EduSports, spoke about the importance of sports in everyone’s life.
On the occasion, teachers presented acts which they rarely exhibit in their daily lives.

A talent hunt competition and fashion show was also organized for the participating teachers.
Rubina Ansari, a teacher with CIPS-Kapsi, was the winner of the talent hunt competition. Her real life story, from a life-threatening accident and back to active life won a lot of accolades. The second prize went to Mohit Kanojiya, a librarian with Sandipani School, whose praise for his better half drew appreciation.
Vini Kumar, a teacher from Montfort school, shared a poem about NIE. She said, “The programme made us forget all our worries as we enjoyed a lot by bringing out our hidden talents.” Narayana Vidyalayam’s teacher Kanchan Mishra came up with tongue twisters, besides narrating a poem. Harvinder Sibal, a teacher from New Meridien school, spoke about life on the occasion.
Bhawna Sahni, facilitator of Edify school, said, “It (the event) gave me a chance to come out of my busy schedule. I enjoyed the talent hunt programme, as TIMES- NIE gave us a chance to showcase our singing, dancing and narration talent. The ramp walk was also a cherishable moment. In the end, all the teachers got up for the fashion show. After an exhaustive session of fun and frolic, a sumptuous lunch was served to us. The teachers changed for a day and they will cherish the moments forever.”
