Songs based on classical music earn appreciation
Nagpur: Bollywood songs based on classical music mesmerized the audience at a programme titled ‘Albela Sajan’ that was organized by Sursaptak at Scientific Society Hall on Saturday.
The programme commenced with the song ‘Ankhiyan sang ankhiyaan lagi aaj’, sung by Mukul Pandey. Romantic duets like ‘Isharon isharon mein’ and ‘Tu jo mere sur mein’ made the audience nostalgic. Several other songs presented at the programme were worth appreciating.
Those who performed included Suchitra Katarkar, Padmaja Sinha, Pratiksha Pattalwar, Ashwini Luley, Rucha Yenurkar, Sangeeta Bhagat, Archana Uchke, Dipili Panke, Mukul Pandey, Amol Kulkarni, Nisargaraj, Ashish Ghate, Vijay Deshpande, Arun Ozarkar, Apurva Masodkar and Aditya Phadke.
The songs were based on the ragas like Malkaunsa, Tilanga, Kedar, Bihag, Bageshri, Darbari Kanada, Pahadi, Lalit and Shivranjani. These ragas have a special place in the Indian classical music and the artistes who performed rose to the occasion.
In all, 25 songs were presented by upcoming singers who regaled the audience.
Conceptualized by Katarkar, the programme was produced by Padma Sinha.
The accompanying artistes, Parimal Joshi, Ashish Ghate, Vijay Deshpande, Ravi Satphale, Nandu Gohane, Pankaj Yadav, Tushar Vivhne and Arya Deshpande, did justice to their job.
Sitar player Walmiki Dhange and Pramod Deshmukh inaugurated the event. Dilip Panke was the chief guest. Flute player Nishikant Deshmukh was present.
Ujjwala Andhare and Shubha, who conducted the programme, also recited Hindi poems.
