Sejal, Raj singers make ‘Sankalp’ memorable
Nagpur: Artistes from ‘New singers talent hub’, a collaboration of Sejal Entertainment and Raj Music Event, presented a blend of new and old Bollywood melodies on Tuesday.
Organized by Jay Tandon and conceptualized by Sanjay Borkar, the karaoke evening titled ‘Sankalp’ was held at Madhuram Hall, Mor Hindi Bhavan, Sitabuldi.
It was a platform for newbies to put forth their talent for the first time and for seasoned singers to hone their skills. The show commenced with reverberations of ‘Ganesh Vandana’ as Borkar and Tandon took to the stage.
Shrikant Sapre was next in line with his rendition of the popular Mohammed Rafi song ‘Khuda bhi aasman se’. Neeta Shamkuwar recreated the magic of Lata Mangeshkar’s charming voice with the song ‘Yeh sama, sama hai pyar ka’. Sunanda Shahakar followed suit as she presented the evergreen number ‘In aankhon ki masti mein’. Kishore Kumar’s ‘Jeevan ke din chhote sahi’ was performed by Nitesh Chaware as he received a thunderous applause from the audience.
Tandon was accompanied by Nutan Bhelkar for his second duet as they sang ‘Kya dekhte ho, surat tumhari’. Priyanka Nerkar’s voice exuded innocence as she presented ‘Dil hai chhota sa, chhoti si asha’.
The listeners revelled into the melodious voices and mellifluous vibe created by the efficient singers as they dished out a number of single and duet performances. The audience tapped their feet, swayed their heads and hummed along to show their support to the artistes.
The playlist in the musical programme included other hit songs like ‘Sama hai suhana suhana’, ‘Ajeeb daastan hai yeh’, ‘Yeh zameen gaa rahi hai’, ‘Tum ho na ho mujhko toh’, ‘Tu jahan jahan chalega mera saya’, ‘Ek pyar ka nagma hai’, ‘Har kisiko nahi milta’ and ‘Pardesia yeh sach hai piya’, among others.
