Seasoned artistes entertain with unforgettable numbers

Nagpur: Unforgettable songs of Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Mukesh were presented with aplomb by seasoned artistes at a programme organized by Sidhhivinayak Publicity at Vasantrao Deshpande Hall on Tuesday.

Tributes were paid to musician Swapnil Ukay to mark his first death anniversary. In a humanitarian gesture, the organizers handed over Rs50,000 to his family.

Sagar Madhumatke gave a powerful solo presentation by singing hit songs like ‘Bachna ae hasseeno’, ‘Sara zamana’ and ‘Zindagi ka safar’.

Many beautiful duets like ‘Tere liye hum hai jiye’ by Manjiri Vaidya and Vijay Chivande, ‘Hum dono mil ke’ by Sarang Joshi and Sonali Dixit, and ‘Dil ki nazar se’ by Arvind Patil and Shreya Kharabe entertained the audience.

‘Morni baaga ma bole’ was sung by Sharda Joshi while Sagar and Manjiri presented ‘Aapki aakhon me kuchh’. ‘Dakiya dak laya’, sung by Sarang, reverberated the air. In all, 25 songs were presented during the programme that cast a spell on the audience.

Songs of different moods selected were presented by singers in their mellifluous voice and attracted repeated cheering from audience.

The programme was conceptualized by Samir Pandit.

The accompanying artistes were Vikram Joshi (minor); Rugved Pande, Gaurav Tanksale and Pranjal Gajula (guitar), Raja Rathod and Mahendra Dhole (keyboard), Shrikant Suryawanshi and Prashant Nagmote (tabla), Ashok Tokalwar (dholak), Akshay Harle (drums) and Nandu Gohane (octapad).

Anchor Manoj Salpekar made the programme lively with his deep knowledge of film music and engaging sense of humour.
