Regular programmes to continue
Breaking the ice, Dr Sajith says, “I’m here for three to four months, and in this tenure, we will continue all the regular programmes that were being organised by

SCZCC

.” Ask him does that mean popular events like

Brahmanaad

,

Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai

, Craft Mela etc. will not be stopped and the new director reiterates, “ I have already given instructions to continue with the staple events.”

Craft Mela toned down

In its silver jubilee year, the annual

Orange City Craft Mela

was to be celebrated on a grand scale this time. The plan was to give it an international edge, with invites already sent to SAARC nations. Ask Dr Sajith if the plan is on, and he says quite candidly, “We are planning to organise the mela in the third or fourth week of March. So, it gives us very short period to celebrate it on a larger scale. Moreover, till now, no international artistes have confirmed. But we will make sure that we put up the best possible show in the given scenario.”

Full-time director soon
Dr Sajith will be travelling a lot to take care of the dual responsibilities. Ask him when will SCZCC get a full-time director and he replies, “The advertisements have already been released in various newspapers for the post and the process will take a couple of months. Meanwhile, I will ensure that the tradition of quality continues.”
