Salim Durani to distribute Bankers Sports Council prizes in Nagpur on September 1

NAGPUR: Former Indian Test cricketer Salim Durani will grace the 53rd prize distribution function of Bankers’ Sports Council (BSC) on September 1 here at the Bank of India Staff Co-Operative Credit Society Hall, RPTS Road, Laxmi Nagar. The annual function will be held at 5 pm on Sunday.
The 85-year-old Durani played 29 Test matches for India from 1960 to 1973. An ace all-rounder Durani was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and a left-handed batsman famous for his six-hitting prowess.Mumbai-based Durani is the only Indian Test cricketer to have been born in Afghanistan.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, BSC president Ramesh Thakur said director (personnel) Western Coalfields Limited Sanjay Kumar, DGM of State Bank of India V Chandrasekhar, DGM of UCO Bank Ashok Telang, DSM of Bank of India Vilas Parate, DGM of Bank of Maharashtra Manoj Kare, DGM of Punjab National Bank Hemant Kulkarni and DGM of Union Bank Sumer Singh will be the guests of honour.
BSC vice-president Sharad Padhye, Chandrashekhar Karkar, joint secretary Ravi Joshi, treasurer Rajesh Joshi, Pradeep Khanorkar and others were also present at the press conference.
