Ritika, Simran enter quarters

Nagpur: Ritika Thaker and Simran Singhi made it to the quarterfinals of the VV Natu memorial All India ranking badminton tournament currently in progress at the PDMBA courts in Pune.
Back on the courts after a two-month break, both Ritika and Simran looked in sublime touch. Entering in the tournament as third seeds, they started their women’s doubles campaign with a facile 21-9, 21-19 win over Aishwarya Mehta and Priyanka Pant from Madhya Pradesh.
In the second round they prevailed over Arshita Kandula and Anamika Singh in straight games 21-5, 21-8 to seal their quarterfinal berth.
In the last eight stage, Ritika and Simran will be up against current national champions Ashwini Bhatt and Shikha Gautam. Both the Ashwini and Shikha made it to the quarterfinals without losing much sweat.
