NAGPUR:
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) registered easy victories in the Inter-Bank Cricket tournament, organized by the Bankers' Sports Council, at the Central Railway Ajni ground here on Friday.
After beating State
Bank of India
(SBI) by two wickets in their opening match on Wednesday, RBI defeated Bank of Maharashtra by 25 runs.
Opting to bat, RBI piled up a huge score of 157 for 5 in 20 overs. Alhad Gunjal (44 not out), Niraj Gawande (41) and Parimal Hedaoo (33) were the main contributors.
Ashish Wanjari
picked up 2 for 23, while Sankalp Shrivastav,
Prashant Pandit
and
Vikrant Gonnade
chipped in with a wicket each.
In reply, Bank of Maharashtra were restricted to 132-8 in 20 overs. Dhananjay Wadekar (22), Prashant Pandit (19), Vikrant Gonnade (15), Jitendra Yelme (15) and Vicky Dahikar (12 not out) tried hard but could not cope up with the high asking rate.
Left-arm spinner Manish Dosi scalped 3 for 13, while Hedaoo and Gawande took a couple each.
In another match, Ankit Vishwakarma (28 and 4 for 12), Rutupurna Pathak (48) and Gautam Bodele (4 wicket for 9) enabled their side PNB to record a big 120-run win over UCO Bank.
Put in to bat, PNB amassed 198 for 7 in 20 overs. Rutupurna Pathak (48), Akash Shindekar (36), Anil Adgaonkar (30), Ankit Vishwakarma and Nishant Chichghare (27 each) were the major scorers.
For UCO Bank, Monish Nandanwar and Mrudul Thombre took 2 wickets each.
In reply, UCO Bank were all out for 78 runs. Mrudul Thombre (25), Ashish Singh, Rajan Singh and Abhinay Dudhwal (10 each) managed to reach double figures. Bodele and Vishwakarma claimed 4 wickets each.
