During a raid conducted by the MSEDCL, a power theft measuring 17.9 kw was unearthed in Khandelwal Alankar Kendra on Gandhi Road on Friday afternoon.

AKOLA: During a raid conducted by the MSEDCL, a power theft measuring 17.9 kw was unearthed in Khandelwal Alankar Kendra on Gandhi Road on Friday afternoon. Officials estimate the theft amount to around Rs 6.36 lakh. A bill with a similar amount will be slapped on the offender.
Surprisingly, Khandelwal Alankar Kendra was secretly given power by Khandelwal Metal.

The MSEDCL team registered a case under section 126 of the Indian Electricity Act.
Industrial rates, which are comparatively less than commercial rates, are applicable in the area. Sources said that the kendra belongs to BJP activists. The place was flooded with silver and gold buyers on the auspicious occasion of 'Gurupushamrut Nakshatra'.
