Nagpur: The crime branch anti-gold chain theft squad, in collaboration with the cyber cell, arrested Sajjad Khan (22), a native of Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh and currently staying in Wadala in Mumbai, for an ATM card fraud case registered at Beltarodi police station.
The complainant, Durga Prasad Gautam (38), a construction contractor from Jaripatka, lost ₹1.24 lakh from his rationalised bank account on Dec 19 last year. At Chinchbhavan ATM on Wardha Road, his card got stuck in the machine. An accomplice tricked him into entering his PIN and directed him to the bank branch at Khapri, allowing the gang to withdraw the cash.
Khan confessed to the crime in collusion with accomplices Zishan Khan, Adil Khan, Gubaran Khan, and Muktdir Khan — all from Mumbai.
Police recovered ₹4,000 cash, a mobile phone, and a car. The accused and seized items were handed over to Beltarodi police.
