Conceptualized by Suchitra Katarkar, the programme was dedicated to legendary singer Vasantrao Deshpande to mark his birth centenary.

The event commenced with a Marathi prayer ‘High amuchi prarthana’ and a spectacular Bharatanatyam performance by Shubhangi Dodke and Renuka Deshmukh on the song ‘Pratham tula vandito ganaraya’, sung by Mukul Pande.

Soulful rendition of ‘Ya chimanyano’, rendered by Pratiksha Pattalwar, mesmerized the audience. Songs like ‘Gomu sangatina’, ‘Pahilich bhet zali’ and ‘Na manoge toh’ captivated the listeners. The string of melodies continued with ‘Vallav re nakhwa’, ‘Sunya sunya maifilit mazya’, ‘Jeev rangla’ and ‘Tya phulanchya gandhkoshi’.

The first duet performance ‘Sandhikali ya asha’ by singers Ashwini Lule and Ashish Ghate was followed by ‘Raja lalkari ashi de’, presented by Megha Haridas and Arun Ojharkar, were well received.

Peppy notes of ‘ Shravanat ghan nila’, ‘Yeu kashi priya’, ‘ Shukra tara mand vara’ and title song ‘Pahile na mi tula’ raised the level of enthusiasm in the hall. Rendition of songs ‘Jhingat’, ‘Mauli’, ‘Ya janmavar ya jagnyawar’ and ‘Kalidar kapuri paan’ added colour to the programme.
