Nagpur: The Institution of Engineers (I)-NLC, Indian Concrete Institute-NC, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers-NC, and Association of Licence Engineers Nagpur recently organized a one-day workshop titled "Good Construction Practices" (Part 1: RCC) in Nagpur. The event focused on essential aspects of reinforced concrete construction, aiming to enhance quality, durability, and structural integrity in construction projects.
The workshop featured expert sessions by renowned professionals:
Session I: Excavation and Foundations – Conducted by PS Patankar and Er. Sumant Mundle, this session covered excavation techniques, soil analysis, and best practices for establishing strong and stable foundations.
Session II: Reinforcement Detailing – Led by Satish Raipure and Vijay Balkote, this session highlighted proper reinforcement placement, detailing standards, and addressed common errors in steel reinforcement.
Session III: Formwork & Shuttering – Presented by PP Deshpande and Kirat Mundle, this session discussed various types of formwork, material selection, and techniques for achieving accuracy and efficiency.
Session IV: Concreting – Explored by Manoj Kawalkar and Prashant Kathale, this session delved into mix design, curing methods, and techniques to enhance concrete strength and durability.
The interactive sessions provided a platform for professionals and academicians to engage in meaningful discussions and gain practical knowledge from industry experts. The overwhelming response and active participation from 181 attendees reaffirmed the importance of such technical workshops in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
