On NU’s complaint, cops treat top law student as ‘accused’

Nagpur: In an unprecedented move, police personnel landed at meritorious student Mohammad Taha Uddin’s residence seeking to curb his movements for the most part of the day on a complaint by the Nagpur University (NU) on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Taha Uddin had petitioned governor Ramesh Bais, vice chancellor SR Chaudhari and director of examinations and evaluation Prafulla Sabale saying he should be deemed the university topper as he a had a high CGPA score of 9.48.

The NU had explained to him about his disqualification following a grace mark in one subject during his course. Taha Uddin said he had given up the cause after receiving NU’s letter but he and his family were unnecessarily made to face public humiliation.
