Offie Anurag shines as NCA emerge U-19 champions
Nagpur: Off-spinner Anurag Dixit (12-1-43-6) spelled his magic in the second consecutive match, this time in the final, to help Nagpur Cricket Academy emerge champions in the VCA under-19 inter-academy tournament that concluded at the Civil Lines ground on Wednesday. They defeated Ruby Colts by 36 runs in the final that was played over two days (60 overs per day).

Anurag, who grabbed four wickets in the semifinal, complemented a brilliant batting effort from NCA’s middle-order bat Aditya Ahuja (110 off 141 balls), who hit a century with 11 boundaries on Day 1. NCA made 298 for 8 in the stipulated 60 overs on Tuesday. Aryan Munde (58) and Vedant Dighade (57) did well alongside Aditya.
In reply, Ruby’s Digvijay Tiwari (42) and Pratham Chawla (49) added 81 runs for the first wicket. However, their middle-order could not handle the testing line by Anurag. The offie struck at regular intervals to fashion his team’s victory and was adjudged man of the final. Anurag was also the man of the match in the semifinal.
