OBC Mahasangh plans mega rally in Delhi meet

meeting held at Dhanwate National College, on Sunday. The meeting was organized regarding the 2nd OBC

Convention

slated to be held at Constitution Club in Delhi on August 7.

President of OBC Mahasangh Babanrao Taywade anticipated that around 4,000 OBC members will attend the Delhi convention.

It was decided that a mega

rally

will be organized in Delhi. The other demands that will be raised are: Making the report of the caste census public; removal of the creamy-layer cap on reservations and implementation of all the recommendations of Mandal commission, Nachiappan committee and Swaminathan Commission.

The members also demanded that OBCs be provided with protection under the Atrocities law. The employees should get promotions while in their jobs. Separate budget for farmers and smart farming should be implemented. Special training centre for preparation of civil services examination for OBC students should be initialized. Likewise, the community will also bring to table some other demands during the Delhi convention.

“Since many states are supporting us, I expect almost 1 lakh people from each district of Vidarbha to attend the convention,” said Sachin Rajurkar, organizer of the mahasangh meet. On the occasion, Ruchit Wandhare was appointed as president of Yuva Sangathan.

Former MP Khushalrao Bopche spoke on the need to unite everyone in the community. “This meeting is an effort to increase awareness about our constitutional

rights

as guaranteed by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar,” he said, adding “We need to bring together all the 18 crore Muslim OBCs.”

Ashok Jovtode from Chandrapur, Sushma Badh, Shakil Patel, Manoj Chavan were among the representatives who were present at the meet.
