Nice blend of old, new songs leaves audience in thrall
Nagpur: ‘Sargam Ke Tarane’ treated the audience to a mixed bag of old and new melodies with the singers belting out hit songs one after the other at Madhuram Hall of Mor Hindi Bhavan, Sitabuldi, on Tuesday.
Presented by Sargam, the programme made the music lovers sway their heads in acknowledgement of evergreen songs.
The musical evening started with the singing of ‘Aye mere watan ke logo’ as a mark of tribute to soldiers.

Those attending the programme stood up when the song was presented, filling the atmosphere with patriotism.
Later, songs like ‘Yadon ki baaraat’ , ‘Jo tum hasoge’, ‘O mere dil ke chain’, ‘Musafir hoon yaaro’, ‘Aye dil mujhe bata de’, ‘Taron mein sajke’, ‘Jawani janeman’, ‘Oh mehbooba’, ‘Chahiye thoda’, ‘Mast baharon’ and ‘Meri umar ke’.

Songs like ‘Raat kali ek’, ‘Deewano se ye maat puchho’, ‘Ae mere udas man’, ‘Milti hai zindagi mein mohabbat kabhi kabhi’ and ‘Rimjhim gire’ had the spectators in thrall who gave repeated calls for ‘once more’.
Duets like ‘Oh haseena’, ‘Jay jay shiv shankar’, ‘Yaad kiya dil’, ‘Haton pe bas’ and ‘Raat ke humsafar’.
The programme concluded with ‘Ab tumhare hawale watan sathiyo’ as a salute to the Indian Army.
Singers MV Unnikrishnan, Brijbhushan Sharma, Ashok Bagul, Uma Raghuraman, Manish Nair, Purnima Joshi, Shrikant Paithankar, Raju Tandle, Vilas Dandge, Vijay Dhawale, Hemant Darvekar, Priya Gupta and Sanjay Uttarwar entertained the audience in their mellifluous voice. The event was anchored by Manish Nair.
