NAGPUR: Rajvardhan, a law graduate and IPS of 1997 batch, has taken over as second-in-command to city police chief SP Yadav on Monday. He replaced erstwhile joint CP Anup Kumar Singh who has been transferred to Mumbai. Rajvardhan was promoted before being sent to city from economic offences wing in Mumbai.
Apart from Rajvardhan, the new chief of state anti-corruption bureau (ACB), Nagpur, Rajeev Jain too joined his new assignment after the transfer of erstwhile SP Prakash Jadhav as principal, regional police training centre in Khandala.
Jain served as SP in Chandrapur where he would be replaced by former Nashik DCP Sandeep Diwan.
Rajvardhan, who had earlier served in Gadchiroli, stated that he is aware of the growing economic offences in city. He comes in at a time when criminal activities are increasing along with expansion of city.
