‘Neele Neele Ambar Par’ celebrates golden era of Hindi music

Conceptualized by singers Sanjay Pillay and Sulbha Mandekar, the musical programme featured songs that were originally sung by legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh, Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi, Yesudas and Pankaj Udhas among others. Singers like advocate Kaushik Pujari, T K Balakrishnan, Jaya Dabhekar, Vandana Wandile, Arti Rajkondwar, Akash Patel, Arvind Shinde, Vidhya Mankawade, Sudhir Pillay, Bhushan Mudliar, Mrunalini Chilkulwar, Sangeeta Deshmukh, C Y Raipure, Akash Porwal, Latesh Kurani, S G Kumbhare and Mangesh Pawar cherished the audience with their performances.
The mood for the karaoke evening was set by Malviya and Wandile as they presented ‘Humsafar mere humsafar’. This was followed by the title song of the show ‘Neele neele ambar par’ by Kurani. The soothing voice of Chilkulwar matched well with the tranquil notes of ‘Dum maro dum’. Kumbhare had the audience swooning over him as he presented ‘Gulabi aankhen’.
The highlight of the evening was the Marathi song ‘Mala jau dya na ghari’ by Mankawade. Deshmukh regaled the listeners with ‘Mujhe tum mil gaye humdum’. Malviya and Wandile joined the stage again for their rendition of ‘Mehtab tera chehra’. The second duet pair of Porwal and Mandekar enthralled the audience with ‘Ek main aur ek tu’.
The audience enjoyed the tunes of songs like ‘Yeh duniya usi ki hai’, ‘Madhuban khushbu deti hai’, ‘Sona lai jaa re chandi’, ‘Dil mein jise bithakar’, ‘Chhu kar mere mann ko’, ‘Nazar na lag jaye’, ‘Pardesiya yeh sach hai piya’, ‘Aisa mauka phir kaha milega’, ‘Jaane wale ho sake toh’, ‘Aur iss dil mein’, ‘Iss mod pe jaate hai’, ‘Jeena kya aji pyar bina’ and ‘Parbat se saari ghata takrayi’ among others.
Malviya and Wandile concluded the extravaganza with ‘Main na bhulunga’.
