Naib tahsildar hangs self to death

Nagpur: Vaibhav Rathod (42), a Naib Tahsildar posted at Mouda taluka, ended life by hanging himself at his residence in Wanadongri on Sunday. The incident came to light around 7pm when Rathod's sister visited his flat and found no response despite repeated knocking.According to police and family sources, Vaibhav was alone at home as his wife and two children had gone outstation for a relative's wedding function. When his sister arrived, the main door was locked from inside. She called out and tried contacting him on mobile phone but received no reply. Alarmed, she informed neighbours and later MIDC Police were called to the spot. Cops broke open the door and found Vaibhav's body hanging in the bedroom. No suicide note has been recovered so far.Locals and acquaintances revealed that Vaibhav was a quiet person who rarely interacted with others. For the past few days, he appeared to be under severe stress, though he had not shared his problems with anyone. Police are probing into his personal, professional, and financial matters to ascertain the cause of suicide.
