Severe heat wave continues to scorch the city as the temperature crosses 46 degree Celsius mark. In this summer madness, many people prefer to stay indoors, but there are others who venture out to find solace near various lakes of Nagpur and indulge in some fun activities to beat the heat in style. Read on as we give you the lowdown on some amazing factors that makes these lakes so special…
Shukrawari Lake
Interesting fact: Located near Raman Science Centre, this lake is enclosed with stonewalls and iron railing. There is a small island in the middle of the lake with a Shiva temple and a garden with huge palm trees which add picturesque dimensions to its serene aura.
Discover its charm: Nature’s bounty is quite evident here and that’s why the lake is touted as a favourite recreational spot for the parched souls who unwind and beat the scorching heat in its pristine beauty. Many people enjoy morning walks, jogging and exercises here.
Fun element: Enjoy boating and join free laughter and yoga clubs.
Food for thought: Right outside the garden, there are vendors selling aloe vera juice and plenty of health drinks which are very popular among the health conscious people. There are several vendors selling ice golas and kulfis here, which bring respite in this maddening heat.
Ambazari Lake
Interesting fact: The lake has an overflow point where a grand statue of Swami Vivekananda has been installed. Though the construction is still underway, many youngsters and collegians flock to the spot to click selfies during sunset from the point.
Discover its charm: Considered to be one of the most beautiful lakes of Nagpur, the Ambazari Lake has plenty to offer its visitors. It is surrounded by lush green trees and a huge garden where people sit and enjoy a serene and peaceful time. Gorewada Lake
