NAGPUR: It was a pleasant time for music enthusiasts as hit songs were presented at a karaoke-based musical programme titled ‘SD Burman to
RD Burman — Caravan’ at Utkarsh Hall, Mor Bhavan, on Saturday.
The programme, organized by Swarmilan, had the audience in thrall as 28 songs were presented beautifully by a talented group of singers. Solos as well as duets were loved by the music lovers.
The programme commenced with Sama Solav chanting ‘Ganesh vandana’ invoking god to shower his blessings for programme’s success.
Duet song ‘Kitna pyara wada’, sung by Prabhakar Maske and Sulbha Mandekar, received applause. The audience clapped and sang along with Sanjay Pillay and Mandekar when they presented ‘Kya yahi pyar hai’. The song took the audience on a romantic setting as witnessed in the movie ‘Rocky’.
Some other duet songs sung at the programme included ‘Aaj madhosh hua jaye re’, ‘Khullam khulla pyar karenge hum dono’, ‘Jaane jaan dhundta hi raha’, ‘Apne pyar ke sapne’, ‘Kahin karti hogi mera intezaar’, and more.
Songs ‘Yeh zameen gaa rahi hai’ and ‘Kuchh toh log kahenge’ by Kaushik Pujari, were well received.
Padmakar Makse urged the audience to sing along with him as he presented ‘Aaj ki raat mere’.
Solo songs ‘Zamane ko dikhana hain’, ‘Samundar mein naha ke’, ‘Mehbooba mehbooba’, ‘Jeevan ke har mod pe’, ‘Pyar ki yaad mein’, ‘Chehra hain ya chand khila hai’, ‘Tune o rangile’, and many caught attention of the audience.
The programme was conceptualized by Jayprakash Malviya, Pillay and Mandekar.

Om Prakash Sahu kept the audience engaged by narrating the stories associated with various songs and the films from which they were taken.
