Music lovers relive classics of Mukesh, Kishore Kumar
Nagpur: Music lovers got a chance to relish ultimate Bollywood numbers at a programme titled ‘Diamonds Forever — Unforgettable Melodies of Mukesh and Kishore Kumar’, organized by Siddhivinayak Publicity, at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall on Sunday.
Singers Sarang Joshi, Sagar Madhumatke, Arvind Patil and Sheetal Tokalwar presented a bouquet of memorable melodies of Kumar and Mukesh. Joshi was in his element while presenting ‘Chhu kar mere maan ko’ that set the mood of the audience. Patil showcased his talent with songs like ‘Kisi ki muskurahaton pe ho nisar’ and ‘Meine tere liye hi’. Madhumatke lent a joyful touch with ‘Rote hue aate hai sab’ and ‘Phoolo ke rang se’ as the audience clapped.
Tokalwar gave a proof of quality in her voice with the song ‘Hum safar mere humsafar’. Madhumatke again impressed the audience with his rendition of ‘Chala jata hoon kisi ki dhoonme’. He sung most of his songs by walking through the spectators that compelled them to dance.
Samir Pandit, who conceptualized the show, said, “We organized this programme to mark the death anniversary of renowned playback singer Mukesh.”
The musicians brilliantly matched with every song. As many as 27 songs were presented which were well received. The light effect was very attractive. Vrushali Deshpande narrated the background of each song presented at the programme. Songs like ‘Mein pal do pal ka shayar,’ ‘Gaata rahe mera dil’, ‘Pyaar hamein kis mod pe le aaya’ and ‘Ek pyaar ka nagma hai’ won hearts of the people. The audience repeatedly responded with wah’, wah’ and whistles, making the atmosphere lively.
The accompanying artistes were Raja Rathod (keyboard), Gaurav Taksale (guitar), Nandu Gohane (octopod) and Prashant Nagmote (tabla/congo).
