Speaking to TOI, Sadhana said, “Nagpur has intelligent music lovers, so we have to present the songs thoughtfully.”
The concert began with a melodious song, ‘Satya Shivam Sundaram’ sung by singer Manish Latad from Pune. Every song presented by Sadhana received huge applause and the audience requested for repeat performances for all of them.
Almost 21 songs were intoned from which some were sung twice on the audiences’ demands. The wonderful rendition of Sadhana and Sagar Madhumatke’s ‘Pehla nasha, pehla khumar’ from the movie ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander’, fascinated the audience. The presentee also hummed in unison for the song ‘Jab koi baat bigad jaye’, which was presented by Sadhana and Sagar on Sadhana’s request. The singer also explained the beauty of every song she sang, which in turn made the experience all the more beautiful. A song from the movie ‘Aradhana’ and SD Burman’s composition ‘Hothon pe aisi baat’ sung by Latad took the people to a frenzied height.
“The musicians are more like magicians as they have brought out such beauty and magic in their performances,” said anchor Shweta Shelgaonkar.
Songs ‘Neele neele ambar par’, ‘Chupke se lag ja gale’, ‘Gazar né kiya hai ishara’, and a Marathi hit ‘Dis chair jhale man’ were amorously presented by Sadhana.
The accompanying artists were Pawan Manvatkar and Raja Rathod (keyboard), Prakash Chauhan (guitar), Rinku Nikhar (base guitar), Arvind Upadhyay (flute), Amar Shende (violin), Nandu Gohne (octopod), Balu Yadav (dholak), Ashok Tokalwar (tabla), Rajesh Dhamankar (tumba congo), Raju Gajbiye (drum), Nitin Chimote (dhol) and Ujwala Gokarn (tal wagh).
