Melodious launch of Bobde’s book on songs, ghazals

, was released by his schoolteacher and writer Madhukar Huddar. The launch was followed by singers reciting songs and ghazals from the book.

Huddar, who was the chief guest for the programme, and celebrated littérateur Ravindra Shobhne lauded Bobde. “Poets have a certain positive astuteness. They view the surroundings distinctively. I have seen these qualities in Bobde while going through his book, which gives a sincere introduction about him,” said Shobhne.

Well-known Hindustani Classical violinist Pandit Prabhakar Dhakde, Devendra Yadav, Shrikant Pise, publisher of the book Avinash Bagde, Abhay Gosavi and others were present. The programme was held at

Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh Sanskrutik Sankul

in Sitabuldi, on Sunday.

“The seeds sowed by his beloved teacher, Huddar, have germinated through this book,” said Shobhne who advised budding poets and writers to seek guidance from Bobde right at the early stages to set a foundation.

The first ghazal presented after the book launch was ‘Gokulat rangla ga’ by Beena Chatterjee. ‘Ghan shravani’, ‘Hey rang vegde’, and ‘Indradhanushche rang jharave’ were presented by Srishti Sen.

Suresh Dande captivated the audience with ‘Bolu nakos kahi’, ‘Faasle iss kadar’, and ‘Jaglo jagayche’. Sunil Bardapurkar presented a mellifluous rendition of ‘Olya nabhant jevha’. Chatterjee concluded the evening with the soulful ghazal ‘Anuragi preet majhi’.

All the singers and benefactors of the programme were felicitated by the guests.

The music was composed by Dande and Charudatta Jichkar. The programme was anchored by Naina Gathu and Arvind Raje.
