NAGPUR: A team from Medical Council of India (MCI), the governing body for medical services in the country, is on a two-day routine inspection of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC). The inspection started on Monday and the team would be coming up with their report by Tuesday.

They also undertook a head count to establish the identities of all employees of the hospital.
"The team did not seem very happy with the condition of the infrastructure at the hospital. They took photographs of some places. Though they were not as unhappy as they were during their last visit," informed a doctor from the hospital.
The head count took as long as two hours. The team checked and verified all relevant documents, verifying the qualification of everybody on the staff.
"For me, the visit was as good as a surprise visit since I came to know of the team's arrival only ten minutes before they arrived, even as I was on my way to the hospital," said dean Dr P Wakhode.
Some of the senior officials of the college, though, maintained that this visit was very much on the cards. The exact time of the visit was not known but it was known that the team would be arriving in either the first or second week of June.
