NAGPUR: Hemlata Parsa, wife of martyred police constable Jhuru who died in Naxal encounter in 2009 at Laheri in Gadchiroli, has been selected as circle inspector for the education department through the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC).
Hemlata was already working as a secondary teacher at Vainganga Vidyalaya in Churmure village in south Gadchiroli.
Jhuru was among the 17 personnel killed during the Laheri encounter where state faced the biggest casualty so far in gun-battle against the rebels in Gadchiroli.
Hemlata was selected by MPSC for the post as a part of the special scheme for the martyrs' family post 26/11 government initiatives.
Gadchiroli SP Sandip Patil had taken up the initiative to ensure that MPSC board takes cognizance of Hemlata's cause through regular correspondences.
