NAGPUR: A twenty-one-year-old man died in a road accident after his two-wheeler hit a stone on the road near Gittikhadan Square in the wee hours of Friday.
Akash Yadav, a lottery seller, was riding pillion on the bike which skidded after the front wheel hit a stone.
Police booked the seventeen-year-old bike rider who was injured. TOI has learnt that the minor lost control after the bike hit a stone on a rough stretch.
The minor, who owns a tobacco shop, had gone to Fetri in Kalmeshwar along with Yadav. The incident occurred when the duo was returning to their residence in Pension Nagar.
Yadav sustained severe injuries after he landed on his head. Both the minor and Yadav were rushed to a nearby hospital where the latter was declared brought dead. The duo was not wearing helmets.
Gittikhadan police registered an offence of rash and negligent driving against the minor. It also slapped charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
