Man seriously injures wife, 2 kin with axe over family feud

Nagpur: A 26-year-old man attacked his wife, father-in-law, and sister-in-law with an axe, causing serious injuries, at Godhni on Sunday over an ongoing tiff within the family. The man, identified as Vivek Tandekar, was apprehended by the crime branch team on Monday and handed over to Mankapur police for further investigations.
Sources said Tandekar had an ongoing dispute with his wife Malika, who stays with her family. Tandekar had been thrashed by Malika, her father Moolchand Wasnik, and sister-in-law Pratiksha when he had gone to meet his wife at her parents' house. In retaliation, Tandekar, along with his accomplice, perpetrated the attack in which Moolchand, Malika, and Pratiksha were seriously injured.
It's learnt Moolchand and his two daughters, Malika and Pratiksha, were heading for some work on their bike when they were intercepted and attacked by Tandekar and his accomplice. Leaving the three bleeding profusely, Tandekar and his accomplice fled the place.
The three injured were rushed to a private hospital in the vicinity where they are recuperating. Mankapur police have registered an offence. In the meanwhile, the crime branch cops nabbed Tandekar while his accomplice is still on the run.
