Major fire breaks out at paint godown in Nagpur's Itwari, no casualties reported

NAGPUR: A major fire broke out at a paint and chemical godown at Loha Oli on Old Bhandara road in Nagpur's Itwari area on Tuesday morning.


According to fire station officer Anil Gole, no casualties were reported in the incident but huge plumes of smoke that emerged from the godown triggered panic in the congested area for some time.

According to officials, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s fire and emergency services department control room received a call about the blaze around at 5am. Eight fire tenders were immediately pressed into service.

Initially, the firefighters faced hardships in reaching the spot due to congested lanes but it was brought under control, said Gole.
