YAVATMAL: In two raids, the local crime branch busted cricket betting dens and arrested six persons. Cash, mobile phones, laptops and a car collectively worth Rs 15,20,750 were seized. Bets were being placed and accepted during the IPL match between Chennai Super King and Rajasthan Royals.

The first raid was carried out in a car parked opposite Hotel Nandini on Darwha Road on Friday. Four persons were arrested, including two operators. The four accused were identified as Ritesh Joshi (34), a resident of Borele Layout, Devendra Katiyara (24), a resident of Palaswadi Sindhi Camp (both operators), Kiran Kamanani (28), a resident of Palas Wadi Sindhi Camp and Rahul Wankhede (30), a resident of Vidarbha Housing Society.

The team led by API Vivek Deshmukh carried out the raid and seized a car worth Rs 12 lakh, 7 mobiles and a laptop priced at Rs 75,000.

In another raid, API Yogesh Randhe nabbed two persons from their house in village Pangadi under Ghatanji police station. Cops seized cash, mobile phones and a laptop collectively worth Rs 1,45,750. An FIR was registered at Ghatanji police station.
