Key accused in agri land fraud case held

Nagpur: Local crime branch (LCB) of Nagpur rural police, under guidance of SP Harssh A Poddar and addl SP Anil Mhaske, arrested Suraj Thakre (43) — second accused in a cheating case involving fake documents for the sale of agricultural land on Tuesday.The case, registered by Kuhi police on Aug 28 stemmed from a complaint by Dr Ganesh J Mukkawar (60) of Nagpur. He alleged his family's farmland in Dawalimet (Riti) was fraudulently sold using forged sale agreements, power of attorney and fake signatures.
Acting on a tip-off, LCB teams laid a trap at Borkhedi toll plaza as Thakre travelled from Nagpur to Chandrapur and nabbed him.
