under the banner of American Association of Physicians of India (AAPI).

AAPI recently signed a MOU with the Indian government for improving the trauma care system and eradicating

tuberculosis

from India at the "Global Health Summit' of AAPI at New Delhi which was attended by Dr Junankar. It had inspired him to reach out to masses. “This camp is the beginning of the commitment towards rural people AAPI has been supporting,” he said.

Villagers were screened for tuberculosis, cancer, hypertension, dental problems, eye diseases and

diabetes

. The camp was inaugurated by former MLA Ramesh Bang and the Maharashtra Medical Council member Dr Shankar Khobragade.

“I am adopting this village permanently. It will set an example for medical professionals to eradicate tuberculosis, cancer and diabetes, the most common diseases that need to be dealt with vigorously,” said Dr Junankar after conducting diagnostic tests on 500 villagers.

Dr Madhukar Thakre, cancer surgeon, Dr Monica Kamble, Dr Shilpa Tiwari, dr Shrikant Raghuwanshi, Dr Dinesh Singh, Dr Ajay Soni and Dr Girish Moghe screened patients in the camp.
