The persons arrested have been identified as Azhar Khan, Raja Khan, Amjad Khan and Javed Ansari. DCP, crime (Detection) Sambhaji Kadam and ACP (crime) Somnath Vaghchoure said Azhar is the gang leader now. Raja and Amjad are his elder brothers. Their father, Rashid, who is yet to be arrested, has been slapped with MCOCA too. Azhar’s cousin Parvez, having 15 offences against him, is also booked but not nabbed yet. Police said Wasim khan, among the ones booked under MCOCA, is behind bar in another case now.
Kadam, while addressing a press conference on Saturday, said the gang had already 12 offences against them in the past while four are now being probed. “The latest MCOCA is second by SIT after Dilip Gwalbanshi and third in the city this year. Some more are under considerations,” said Kadam.
