German Hospital team visits DMIHER for international placements

Wardha: A team of seven academicians and recruiters from UKE Hospital, Hamburg, Germany, visited Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research, deemed to-be university (DMIHER), Wardha, as part of the ongoing international placement initiative for nursing students of Srimati Radhikabai Meghe Memorial College of Nursing (SRMMCON).During their visit, the delegation interacted with vice-chancellor Dr Lalitbhushan Waghmare, proVC Dr Gaurav Mishra, registrar Dr Sweta Kale Pisulkar, executive director for academic excellence Dr Tripti Waghmare, Dr Chhitij Raj, director - CDOE, the DMIHER Global Team, and the principals of nursing solleges, Dr Vaishali Taksande and Akhtarbano Sheikh, Dr Jaya Gawai, dean academics and Shubhankar Ghewade, EA. The discussions focused on the progress of the placement collaboration, student readiness, and the future scope of international opportunities for nursing graduates.A key highlight was the student-led welcome session, where SRMMCON nursing students delivered speeches in German, speaking about DMIHER and India's rich culture, showcasing their language proficiency and enthusiasm for global healthcare. As a result of this collaboration, 25 nursing students from SRMMCON have already secured placements at UKE Hospital, Hamburg, with an impressive salary package of approximately ₹32 lakh per annum. Additionally, more students are in the process of securing placements, further strengthening DMIHER's role in facilitating global career opportunities.The delegation toured the Shalinitai Meghe Superspeciality Centre and Siddharth Gupta Memorial Cancer Hospital, visiting nursing stations and observing students in clinical training. They also explored Central India's most advanced School of Virtual Learning, where nursing students receive hands-on simulation training. Impressed by the infrastructure, academic standards, and practical learning approach, the UKE team expressed confidence in the students' readiness for global careers, further reinforcing DMIHER's commitment to international collaborations and career pathways.
