Gang duping citizens with tour packages busted, 3 held

Nagpur: Sonegaon police raided a star hotel on Wardha road on Wednesday and busted a gang of fraudsters from Noida involved in duping new car buyers by luring them with attractive tour package offers, especially to foreign countries.
Those arrested have been identified as Vishal Roy, Jatin Sharma and Saurabh Chandra Bakas, all residents of Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Police said the modus operandi of the gang was to gather information about new car buyers and then approach them with lucrative tour package offers and extract money from them. Lured by the offers, many people used to deposit money with the fraudsters. For this purpose, the gang used to also hold meetings in posh hotels.
This gang had duped Rohan Mangate of ₹25,000. While probing the case, Sonegaon police got information about the gang holding a meeting at a hotel on Wardha road. The police raided the hotel and arrested three of the gang members. tnn
