Keen on development of Gadchiroli district, the state government has extended the deadline for various works initiated under integrated action plan of the Centre till April end.

CHANDRAPUR: Keen on development of Gadchiroli district, the state government has extended the deadline for various works initiated under integrated action plan of the Centre till April end. Earlier, the deadline for spending Rs 25 crore received in January this year under the scheme was up to March 31.
The decision to extend the deadline was conveyed to the administrative officials by divisional commissioner BV Gopal Reddy during his visit to Gadchiroli on Wednesday.

Reddy said that the Union government has approved Rs 55 crore for development works in Gadchiroli district for 2010-11 and 2011-12 under the action plan. Of this, Rs 25 crore were received in January. Now that the deadline has been extended, the departments concerned should plan development works within the time-frame, Reddy said during a meeting with officers of district administration and security forces. District collector Atul Patne, CEO Amit Saini, CRPF officer Pankaj Singh and additional SP Arti Singh and other officers were present. He asked the officers to post details related to development works and day-to-day progress on the website. He also asked to maintain transparency in works and appoint a guardian officer to supervise development works. Reddy also reviewed the progress of various schemes and other developmental works under way in Gadchiroli district.
