Five including 2 students end life

Nagpur: Five persons, including two students, committed suicide in the last 24 hours in the city.
In the first incident, Sakshi Urkude, 21, was found hanging to the ceiling hook at her Nirmal Nagari residence on Saturday evening. Sakshi was a bachelor of commerce student. Nandanvan police informed that a suicide note was found from Sakshi’s room in which she mentioned that she failed to fulfill the wishes of her parents and thus chose to end her life.Police has registered a case of accidental death.
A 19-year-old college student Shraddha Ganvir was found hanging at her Bhim Sena Nagar residence under Jaripatka police station area. Police claimed no suicide note was found.
In another incident, a 40-year-old man Ashok Kadayit hanged himself at his Shanti Nagar residence on Sunday morning.
A senior citizen was found hanging to a tree at Bokhara Road under Koradi police station jurisdiction on Sunday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Prasant Joshi, 65.
A 25-year-old youth Praveen Chavan committed suicide by hanging himself at his Chhattrapati Nagar residence on Sunday morning.
Eight booked in dowry death
The suicide of Shahrabano Ahmed Hasan at her in-laws’ place at Bhaldarpura on April 9 this year has led to the registration of offence of dowry death and abetment to suicide against eight of her husband’s family. Police said Shahrabano and Ahmed Hasan had tied the knot in February 2014. Later, Shahrabano was regularly tortured at her in-laws’ place for dowry. She hanged herself at her residence.
Cops register offence in robbery
Sadar police, which had earlier taken the matter lightly, registered an offence of armed robbery against four unidentified persons who decamped with valuables worth 1.05 lakh, including cash 65,000, after thrashing Dr Imran Mohammed at Chhaoni, Sadar. Police said Dr Imran was thrashed by four persons after one of their two-wheelers met with a minor mishap with the complainant’s car, leading to a fracas. They later decamped with his gold chain and cash in the car.
