Five arrested in Wanjari Nagar gang war

Ajni police have arrested five people on Monday for their alleged involvement in Saturday's gang war at Wanjari Nagar. Virendra Lonare, alias Gijrya, husband of a local corporator, was arrested along with John Guldeokar and three of his accomplices from different hideouts.

NAGPUR: Ajni police have arrested five people on Monday for their alleged involvement in Saturday's gang war at Wanjari Nagar. Virendra Lonare, alias Gijrya, husband of a local corporator, was arrested along with John Guldeokar and three of his accomplices from different hideouts.
Sachin Wasnik, already accused in three cases of murder, along with his gang had apparently come prepared with arms to eliminate Gijrya and Guldeokar to avenge the earlier murder of Rocky in Dhantoli.

Police said that Wasnik and Rocky's nephews were the mastermind of the attack. Wasnik was injured in the gang war as police reached on time making the factions disperse. Several sharp weapons and a country-made gun were recovered along with five cartridges.
Police sources said that Guldeokar also filed a cross complaint against Wasnik and others for attacking them to extort Rs 50,000 on Saturday. Guldeokar said that Baban Patil was his partner in real estate business. Following a dispute between him and Patil, the gang of Wasnik and others perpetrated the assault on him. The names of Rocky's nephews Rinku and Sunny Anthony too were included by Guldeokar in his report.
