The water works department has proposed to increase the

fees

of 24X7 water supply project consultant DRA Consultants from Rs11.73 crore to Rs16.62 crore, an increase of Rs4.89 crore. The proposal will be tabled before the standing committee meeting of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on July 9.

Several issues are on the standing committee meeting agenda. Deepstambh Charitable Trust has sought two unused NMC shops in Subhash Nagar. These shops are not finding any tenants and hence NMC is incurring loss of revenue.

The old NMC substation is to be shifted to the new substation for increasing its capacity. A proposal will come before the committee for sanctioning the tender of Sadhna Electric Works, which is 1.2% above the estimate, for installing street lights in Laxmi Nagar zone.

Another proposal is related to construction of a cement road from New ST Stand to backside of Hotel Rahul in Ganeshpeth. Contractor RS Naidu has quoted 11.3% above the estimate for the work.
