Family dupes builder of Rs3cr in land scam
Nagpur: Vishal Bavithale, a 40-year-old builder from Indira Gandhi Nagar, was allegedly duped of Rs3 crore by a family in a land scam in Yashodhara Nagar area. Following Bavithale's complaint, a case was registered at Yashodhara Nagar police station.As per the police complaint, in 2021, Surendra Verma (58), Jitendra alias Kundan Verma (45), Meerabai Verma (82), and Rishi Verma (34), all residents of Prem Nagar near Itwari railway station, offered to sell a 2.69-hectare plot in Binaki, Khasra No. 99/01, to Bavithale.As per the police complaint, the family falsely claimed that the land, occupied by a slum for 50 years, was eligible for Transferable Development Rights (TDR). They allegedly forged sale agreements, possession letters, and special attorney documents to defraud Bavithale of Rs3 crore. When confronted, the family threatened and abused Bavithale, stated the complaint. Further investigation is under way.
