Nagpur: Legendary Bollywood playback singer Udit Narayan left Nagpur spellbound with his electrifying live performance at the Khasdar Mahotsav on Saturday. The iconic voice that serenaded three generations of music lovers on the stage, delivered a show that will be remembered for years.
Clad in a striking sky-blue suit, Udit Narayan walked on stage to the iconic tune of ‘Papa kehte hain', instantly capturing the hearts of the packed audience. Greeting the crowd with a cheerful ‘Kasa kai Nagpur' in Marathi, he struck a chord with thousands who gathered at the sprawling grounds of Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education.
The concert was a testament to Udit Narayan's enduring appeal, even at 69. Fans of all ages filled the venue, with many standing outside just to catch a glimpse of the star. The event resembled a sea of twinkling mobile flashlights as the audience joined in celebrating the musical journey of the living legend.
Udit Narayan took the audience on a nostalgic ride, performing timeless hits like ‘Ruk jaa oh dil deewane', ‘Jadoo teri nazar', and ‘Pehla Nasha'. Each song was greeted with thunderous applause and calls for encores. When he sang ‘Chhora Ganga kinare wala' and ‘Mein nikla, gaddi leke', the crowd erupted into cheers, singing along with the icon.
The audience's live song requests were fulfilled instantly, showcasing his versatility and connection with his fans. Even Union minister Nitin Gadkari, a fan of Udit's music, gave him a list of his favourite songs, which Udit performed perfectly.
Adding to the magic, Udit's wife, accomplished singer Deepa Narayan, joined him on stage for a delightful rendition of ‘Tu mere samne'. Their duet was met with overwhelming appreciation, and the audience sang along to ‘Ho gaya hai tujhko to pyar sajna', creating a euphoric atmosphere.

The legendary singer paid heartfelt tribute to late Lata Mangeshkar, recalling how blessed he was to sing alongside her. Performing a Marathi song, ‘Aboli prin tujhi abol ka bol na', he showcased his versatility and love for regional music.
In a lighter moment, Udit Narayan humorously asked Nitin Gadkari to ensure he receives the Padma Vibhushan this year, earning cheers and laughter from the audience.
