NAGPUR: Fifty-two-year-old businessman Nilesh Patel claimed to have been robbed of Rs1.21 lakh by four unknown goons at knifepoint in a narrow lane passing at Lakadganj on Wednesday night. But surprisingly, no such incident was recorded in the CCTV camera facing directly towards the spot. However, Lakadganj police have registered the offence of robbery against four unidentified accused, in their forties.

Patel, a resident of Quetta Colony, told police that he was heading on his bike towards his friend’s place near Barbate Garden.
As he reached the corner of the lane, an unknown man stopped him on the pretext of asking for an address. Suddenly, other three persons grabbed him from behind. One of them whipped out a knife. The men snatched Rs 59,000 cash and gold valuables, total worth Rs 1.21lakh, from him before fleeing the spot.
Senior PI SB Mane said, “Patel could not even recollect how they fled from the spot. We procured footage from CCTV camera, which was installed at the shop and facing towards the spot, but no such incident has been captured.” No suspicious movement was recorded either added PI.
