Double delight for Ridheema

Nagpur: Promising city shutter Ridheema Sarpate clinched twin titles in the Maharashtra State badminton championship at Ahmednagar on Friday.
In the girls U-15 singles final, Ridheema shocked fourth seed Dakshayni Patil in a thriller 19-21, 26-24, 21-9 while partnered with Shourya Madavi to clinch the doubles crown. The duo of Ridheema and Shourya defeated Ketaki Thitte and Tanvi Gharpure 11-21, 21-18, 21-11.
Ameya Naktode of Ace Academy secured silver in U-17 boys singles.
Similarly, Nishika Gokhe lost the U-17 girls and mixed doubles final.
Ridheema and Nishika practice under Kunal Dasarwar at the Dhanwate National College, Shourya and Ameya are trainees of Ashish Rajput and Jatin Parmar. tnn
