Nagpur: In a first of a series of talks and expert lectures to create awareness about entrepreneurship among students, Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Science (deemed to be university) arranged a special session on female entrepreneurship.
The expert lecture titled ‘Empowering Women — Orientation on Women Entrepreneurship’ was organized on December 11.
The guest faculty for the lecture was Anita Rao, joint secretary of Entrepreneurship Cell at Vidarbha Industries Association.
DMIMS has been awarded an EU funded Erasmus + project ‘ENPRENDIA’ which is related to enhancing women entrepreneurship in India. The lecture was interactive in nature and was attended by over 300 students comprising of faculties of medicine, dentistry and ayurveda and was very well received.
Rao recounted several of her personal experiences in the field of entrepreneurship which connected well with the young audience.
The event was planned and executed by the team of this project comprising of Dr Srihari Sheshagiri, Dr Seema Singh, Dr Nilima Thosar and Dr Ashish Anjankar. The team was headed by Rajiv Yashroy, director of DMIMS (International Initiatives & Strategic Planning).
The guest speaker was welcomed and felicitated by Yashroy who is also the project manager of this project. The programme was compèred by Dr Srihari Sheshagiri who also introduced the speaker. Dr Nilima Thosar proposed a vote of thanks.
