Nagpur: Thousands of devotees from across the country will pay tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary on Tuesday, with extensive arrangements made for daylong programmes at Deekshabhoomi.
At around 9am, Dr Ambedkar's statue outside the Deekshbhoomi stupa will be garlanded, followed by rituals led by Buddhist monks, including Bhadant Arya Nagarjuna Surai Sasai.
One of the highlights of the programme will be the recitation of the Tri Sharan and Panchsheel, reflecting the spiritual significance of the occasion.
A blood donation camp has also been organised, with participation from medical teams from Mayo Hospital led by Dr Chetan Meshram. LED screens installed at the venue will display rare visuals and clips showcasing Dr Ambedkar's life and contributions.
The main event at 6pm will feature scholars and literary figures from Delhi, including Dr DRS Shekhar, scientist Anoop Kumar and Akash Khobragade. Bhadant Dhamma Sarthi from Wardha will also address the gathering. Organisers said preparations have been scaled up in anticipation of the expected turnout every year.
