NAGPUR: The Central Railway Nagpur Division has made a record by loading 2.374 million tonnes of goods in the months of April. The division made a daily loading of 3,109 wagons.According to official sources quoting DRM Sunil Kumar Agrawal, in April 2007, cement from ACC, Chandrapur, was loaded in 28 rakes, which is 18% more as compared to last year.
This led to earning of over Rs 4 crore revenue.
Similarly, cement was loaded in five rakes from Ambhuja, generating a revenue of Rs 1.5 crore to the division.From Pandhurna, cotton seeds were loaded in two rakes generating an income of Rs 38.65 lakh. Sources said, in the same month there is a hike in basic loading by 2.8%, coal by 3.2% and cement by 12.2%. Besides, an increase of 11.48% was recorded in passenger earnings, goods 10.30% and commercial advertisements 613%.
