Her elder sister Muskan (7), who too got a minor shock as she touched Khushi, raised an alarm and informed their landlord as soon as she saw Khushi lying on the floor motionless. Kalamna police registered the case of accidental death, following the complaint of Bhaurao Tajne, deceased’s maternal uncle.

“Due to load shedding, Khushi, Muskan, their 3-year-old brother Siddhant and other kids from the locality, gathered outside and were playing in rain. Meanwhile, Khushi went inside for a water bottle. As she opened the fridge, the power supply resumed which turned on the cooler and she received a shock,” said PSI NT Gosawi. Cops, who were immediately summoned, rushed Khushi to the Mayo hospital where she was declared brought dead.

Family said Kalpana, Khushi’s mother, separated from her husband Manoj five months ago and shifted to Bhandewadi along with her children. Kalpana, a labourer, was out for work when the incident happened.
