Nagpur: Patients in Nagpur and Central India will soon have one of its kind state-of-the-art comprehensive multi-speciality and super-speciality hospital with all diagnostic and treatment facilities under one roof.
Dr Aabaji Thatte Sewa Aur Anusandhan Sanstha, which has established the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Nagpur, has taken up another mega public health care project — the National Health Care Institute (NHCI), a 450-bed multi-speciality and super-speciality hospital, to be constructed on North Ambazari Road, Nagpur.
The ceremony will be performed at 3.30pm on April 24 by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, in the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis, Union minister of road transport & highways Nitin Gadkari; and revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
The hospital, spread across 5 lakh sqft, will be the first run by a registered charitable trust with a corporate-like structure, offering treatment to all at affordable cost. The hospital has been envisioned by the trustees, keeping in mind the needs of Nagpur city, surrounding areas and neighbouring Central Indian states.
"The proposed NHCI will be on par with international facilities and will be equipped with ultra-modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, highly skilled super-specialists and support staff.
We will be creating a sanctuary of wellness and healthcare in Nagpur," said Shailesh Joglekar, general secretary of Dr Aabaji Thatte Sewa Aur Anusandhan Sanstha.
Joglekar added NHCI will follow a multi-disciplinary approach and multi-modal therapy, with strong reliance on advanced diagnostics.
