City scholar researches role of healthcare apps
Nagpur: Debarun Chakraborty, writer of more than 60 research articles on various aspects of management in different international journals, has brought to the fore the expanding dimensions of healthcare apps in the global scenario in his latest work published in ‘Technovation’ by co-authoring with writer Justin Paul.
‘Technovation’ is published by the reputed Netherlands-based Elsevier, a publication company which specializes in technical, scientific and medical content.
Chakraborty, who is an editorial board member in different journals, and Paul focused on various healthcare services and products such as medicine, consultation with doctors and laboratory tests compelling the masses to shift to various apps for assistance in times of crisis.
With restrictions and curbs being the new normal, the authors stressed on how healthcare apps started becoming an integral part of one’s life. The two eminent scholars focused on ‘consumption values’ and explored various trends in ‘brand love’ for health care apps.
Debarun, deputy director and associate professor at the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, has also authored half a dozen books and presented 45 papers at different conferences. He said the aim was to look into the healthcare brand love in India by using the theory of consumption values as theoretical values.
Omkar Nakade, co-founder of app Mednet Labs, said healthcare apps as a repository of clinical data, laboratory records and consultation history have revolutionized the healthcare management system. “Apps are increasingly used for sending alerts, reminders and notifications to assist patients and health care providers. They are now the fulcrum of home care systems and a bridge between patients, doctors and healthcare providers,” he said.
Nakade, an expert in healthcare apps, also said that aspects of artificial intelligence and machine learning would soon be part of healthcare apps.
